Apple turnovers recipe

Yesterday, I showed you the apple strudel I made for Thanksgiving. Well, here's what a did with the leftover apple filling.

If you make the strudel and find that, like me, you have leftovers, this is a great, easy thing to do with them. But, it's also a good thing to do in lieu of the strudel, especially if you're a bit wary of working with phyllo dough, which can be a bit tricky.

Whether you make the turnovers with leftover filling or fresh, these are incredibly delicious. In fact, Ryan was so eager to eat them, that he couldn't wait for me to finish taking photos before reaching for one.

Ingredients:
1/2 batch apple filling from strudel recipe
1 package puff pastry dough
Sprinkling cinnamon

Step 1. Preheat the over to 400 Fahrenheit (205 Celsius).
Step 2. Thaw the puff pastry dough and unfold each sheet.
Step 3. Cut each sheet into four squares (I used a pizza cutter) so that you have eight squares in all.
Step 4. Sprinkle the squares with cinnamon.
Step 5. Spoon about 1.5 tablespoons apple filling into the center of each square of dough.
Step 6. Fold each square of dough diagonally, sealing it with the tongs of a fork
Step 7. Space the turnovers evenly on a cookie sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes.
